Plumber in Newton-le-Willows, WA12
We cover all of Newton-le-Willows and WA12, including Earlestown, Vulcan Village and the WA11 edges of the town. When you ring 07759 813431 you speak to Matthew Birchall, the Gas Safe registered engineer (number 653634) who does the work. If it helps, text photos of the problem before he visits, so he can bring the right parts and fix it first time where possible.
Our plumbing & heating work covers leaking taps, toilets and cisterns, boiler repairs and servicing, central heating, hot water and full bathrooms. Emergency calls are taken 24/7.
Emergency plumber in Newton-le-Willows
Our emergency plumber service covers burst pipes, water through a ceiling, no water, overflowing cisterns and heating breakdowns, any hour of any day. While you wait, turn the water off at the stopcock, usually under the kitchen sink, and switch off any electrics near the leak.
If the leak is on the public side of your boundary stop tap, it's for United Utilities. Anything inside your property is ours to fix. Out of hours, we explain how the charge works before Matthew sets off.
Older terraces and bigger family homes
A lot of the Victorian terraces still have older pipework, a gravity-fed system and a cold water tank in the loft. They keep going, but shower pressure is often weak and old tanks and joints are prone to leaks. Many of these houses suit a combi conversion, which clears the loft and gives you mains-pressure hot water. Plenty of terraces are rented out too, and landlords need a gas safety check and CP12 every year.
The interwar and post-war semis and the newer estates are a different job. Bigger family homes with two bathrooms can run short of hot water on a combi, so a system boiler with an unvented cylinder is often the better fit. Matthew looks at your property, your water pressure and how your household uses hot water before he recommends anything.
Boilers, heating and bathrooms
Boilers and gas safety
Only Gas Safe registered engineers can legally work on gas appliances. You can check Matthew's registration at gassaferegister.co.uk or ask to see his ID card at the door.
We repair most makes, carry out annual servicing, fit gas cookers and hobs, and replace old boilers with new combi, system and conventional models. A combi swap usually takes about a day, and a conversion from a tank-fed system 2 to 3 days. New boilers come with the manufacturer's standard warranty, which must be registered, and most need a yearly service to keep it valid. Landlords can have the CP12 done on the same visit as the service.
Heating repairs
Cold radiators, a noisy pump, a boiler that keeps losing pressure or a cylinder that won't heat the water are all common calls here. Matthew works on old gravity-fed setups and modern combis, and he finds the cause rather than patching the symptom. If sludge is the problem, a power flush can bring cold radiators back. We also fit new radiators, thermostats and full central heating systems.
Bathrooms and everyday plumbing
We do washing machine and dishwasher plumbing, toilet and cistern repairs, shower installation and full bathrooms with tiling. Small repairs are usually done on the first visit, and bigger jobs are booked in when it suits you. Before you book anyone, check reviews and, for gas work, ask to see the Gas Safe ID card. We agree the price with you before any work starts.
Nearby areas
We regularly work in Earlestown, Haydock and Blackbrook.
